The HABC Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) is an introduction for those who wish to train or teach.
This is a QCF recognised formal qualification that will equip learners with the necessary knowledge to deliver effective training or teaching to their own learners and who:
- require an introduction to teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector and gain a formal recognised qualification
- are seeking career progression within their own area of work
- are seeking progression towards ATLS/QTLS status or teach on a one to one or group basis.
Qualification Description
If the individual already holds the appropriate technical qualification, the PTLLS course is suitable for those who want to:
- teach within the Voluntary Sector
- teach within further, adult or community education
- be responsible for work based learning
- work as technicians or support staff in further/adult education
Course Description
The course can also be delivered via the following methods:
- 4 day in-house course at your own training venue.
- Blended learning – combining distance learning and formal training.
- Combined course such as the First Aid at Work for train the trainer qualifications.
Duration
This is a 4 day course which includes a practical assessment. Please note this course is very intensive and also includes compulsory pre-coursework which must be completed prior to attending.
Assessment
The award is assessed by the learners completing both theory assessment tasks and a practical assessment task. The practical assessment task includes the delivery of a 30 minute micro-teach session.
Qualification
The HABC Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) will be awarded to those who successfully complete the required elements of the course.
